About Garage Guy Perth
Garage Guy is a garage door business covering the Perth metropolitan area β 288 suburbs, from Two Rocks in the north to Kwinana in the south and out to the edge of the Hills. Roller doors, sectional doors, springs, motors, custom doors and commercial shutters.

Vans, not a showroom
There is no shop and no depot. The technicians work out of stocked vans, and most of what a common fault needs is already on board when they arrive β springs, cables, rollers, motor boards, sensors. That is what makes coverage this wide possible, and it is also why there is no address on this site to drop in to.
The trade-off is honesty about timing. Perth is around 120 kilometres end to end, so βsame dayβ is genuine in some corridors and not in others. Every suburb page on this site says what a van already working that corridor can realistically do, rather than repeating one promise 288 times.
What we will not do
- Quote a price over the phone. A fault you cannot see cannot be priced. The diagnosis is free and the estimate comes before the work starts.
- Publish a licence number. WA has no garage-door trade licence to hold. We would rather say that plainly than display something that looks reassuring and means nothing.
- Tell you to replace a door that is fine. A twenty-year-old door with a sound curtain is worth repairing. One with a perforated bottom section is not. We will tell you which you have, and there is no charge for that.
- Give you spring instructions. Torsion springs kill people. There is nothing on this site telling you how to work on one, and that is on purpose.
Why the local detail matters
A garage door in Perth does not live the life the manufacturer designed it for. 38 of the suburbs we cover sit within two kilometres of the ocean, where salt eats bottom rails and fixings from the inside out. Inland, limestone dust and sand pack the guides until the door drags. In the Hills, storm outages take out control boards through surges. Those are three different failure lists, and knowing which one you are on is most of the diagnosis.
That is why each suburb has its own page rather than a name in a list β the distances to the coast, the river and the scarp are measured per suburb, not guessed. The long version is here.
The questions worth asking any garage door company
Are you licensed?
Western Australia has no garage-door trade licence category. Builder registration exists, but it only applies to building work above a value threshold that a garage door repair never comes close to. So any WA garage-door company publishing a licence number is publishing something that does not exist β and quite a few do. What we carry is full insurance and a written 12-month workmanship warranty.
Do you do the electrical work as well?
It depends which side of the line the job falls on. Plugging a motor into an existing power point is not electrical installation work and we do it as part of the job. Hard-wiring a motor, or adding a new power point in the garage, is β and that needs a licensed electrical contractor. We will tell you which situation you are in before quoting, not after.
Where are you based?
Nowhere you can visit, and that is deliberate. There is no depot for the vans to radiate out from β they work corridors instead, which is the only way coverage this wide is possible. For a new door the measure happens at your place, which is where it needs to happen anyway.
Why are there no prices on this site?
Because a garage door fault cannot be priced without being seen, and a figure quoted over the phone is a guess dressed up as a quote. You get a free diagnostic estimate before any work starts, and you can decline it. Several competitors publish ranges; those ranges are wide enough to be meaningless and they go stale.
What if you get it wrong?
The workmanship warranty is twelve months and it is in writing. If something we did fails inside that, we come back and fix it. If a part we supplied fails, its own manufacturer warranty applies on top.
